VM--don't waste your time or money...What a joke!
I drove from Philly to Dallas TX, rented a car, flew to Caesars Atlantic City...Just to see Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox. What a fantastic use of time and money. I would gladly pay to see him again and purchase his recordings. He used to be my favorite and he enhanced the image I had of him as a songwriter and entertainer. Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox was supposed to start at 9...it was changed to 8:00 without notice to anyone. He just chose to start early. We arrived at 8:30 and it had been going on for 30 mins. That's quite incredible!!!! He mumbled through songs, seemed incoherent and forgot words. Got angry and upset with the audience and his band members. Tossed his microphone when his water was not refilled promptly on stage. Yelled at the stage hand. Behaved like a spoiled brat on stage when the audience didn't recognize some of his songs and sat quietly. One of the best things that happened...he actually began playing 2 songs twice. I couldn't believe it. I mentioned "he played that about 10 mins ago".... OMG. that's when people started to stand up and just leave disappointed. He was so discourteous. He exited the stage without a word and people didn't realize it was finished. He left the stage before the end of a song...then his band completed it. We thought ok, he will return.... nope...within 2 mins his roadies appeared and started dismantling the equipment with people sitting there looking baffled. Boos were heard all around. He never introduced his band members, never spoke to the audience, no thank you, nothing. People were delighted and the Caesars Casino management was trying to apologize. The Casino managers were inside as furious, unhappy individuals streamed out of the auditorium... you could see that Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox honored Caesars. Fans were so thrilled they left elated, praising, saying definitely Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox. We deserved an encore. What a spectacular show.... and a great use of time.
